It helps me cope with my life changing mental health experiences after the the passing away of my very young daughter after a long devastating illness.

Gday Kev, bloody cars, there’s always something, I just finished putting in a new timing belt, new radiator and starter motor in the young fellas 4wd, not the funniest of jobs to do, glad you got that sorted mate, cheers
I can honestly say this has been useful. My S Type Jag has the same problem on the boot release and I believe it is a broken wire where the loom runs around the boot hinge. Thanks Kev this has given me the confidence to get on and get it fixed. 👍👍👍

Even though wires may be the right cross sectional area, you have to take into account the number of core strands. Less strands mean less flexibility means broken wires down the line. You have to use the same or better. By better, I mean smaller but more numerous core strands. How do I know this ...I worked in the cutting shop of Lucas/SEI for eight years. I personally cut and terminated the entire looms for the first 25 Rover 75s

Good workaround Kev. One thing I do when cutting a loom like that is to cut all the wires at different places to join them. That way you reduce the overall diameter of the join (as they are all spread out) and any chance of cross shorting through abrasion over time. A lot of 240 volt appliances (washing machines etc) now use steel core wire, which isn't suitable for car looms. Good Job. Saved a pretty penny there. Cheers Rob

@@MarkMcCluney Steel wire has a much higher resistance than copper and can cause voltage drop with 12 volt applications. Vehicle and other low voltage wiring is usually copper (or sometimes aluminium) for this reason. Cheers Rob

great job kev... tool my loco for its first run now its complete and the automatic cylinder drain cock was plugged... as you can imagine didnt get very far once the condensation built up in the cylinders. oh the joys never end. ;)
cheers Brendan never had a bit of trouble with my auto drain cocks, perhaps more luck than judgement. There's always little niggles to contend with, part of the fun😉😂😂, my pet hate is when loco left for a while the axle pump ball sticks every time and it's a bit of a bugger to take off the way i designed it to fit, but a sharp tap with a long heavy screwdriver or similar, frees it. all the best with running your loco, see you next time, hope you get some video's of it running for us to enjoy with you.
